Cynthia Tice, Founder of Lily’s Sweets, Discusses Giving Up Sugar, Optimal Eating and Integrating Philanthropy and Business
This week on the podcast we are happy to bring you a conversation with Cynthia Tice, founder of the popular sugar-free chocolate brand, Lily’s Sweets. In everything they make, Lilys sources Non-GMO and gluten-free ingredients harvested through Fair Trade practices, and ensures every product is botanically sweetened—meaning no refined or processed sugars. On this episode Cynthia takes us through her own journey with food and how she was a pioneer in the natural foods business with her own Philadelphia market in the late 1970’s. In the early 2000’s she kicked sugar for good but of course her love of chocolate made that difficult. In 2010 she and her long time friend, launched lily’s sweets and since then Lily’s have grown and become a mainstream staple for all of us who want to enjoy well sourced delicious chocolate without the added sugar!
Cynthia has now transitioned to overseeing Lily’s philanthropic work, which has been a core component of the company, since its inception. Lily’s pledges a percentage of its earnings to non-profit organizations that support the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
