David Richman, Author of Cycle of Lives, Explores 15 Individual Emotional Journeys with Cancer and The Importance of Human Connection
Today on the podcast we sit down with David Richman. David is the Author of the new book, Cycle of Lives: 15 People's Stories, 5,000 Miles, and a Journey Through the Emotional Chaos of Cancer. In the book, David explores 15 people’s emotional journeys -- including caregivers, patients, loved ones, and doctors -- and the various traumas in their lives that affected their experience. These stories are interwoven amongst the narrative of David’s solo 5,000-mile bike ride to meet the book participants whom he had been interviewing for a few years. David’s book is inspirational, insightful, and evocative.
On this episode, David shares with us portions of the stories in the Cycle of Lives project. He also shares his passion for inspiring deeper human connection and his own personal journey to this work. We do want to offer a slight trigger warning to anyone who may be sensitive while listening to this episode, since we do discuss various traumas. David’s work further shows that we can all learn and grow from having the courage to share vulnerable stories. We hope you enjoy the episode!
